The Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) Program caters to working health care practitioners who want to develop the professional skills needed to be agents of change in the 21st century. The degree instills advanced theories and skills that position graduates for a deeper level of patient care and leadership within their organization. Candidates for the RN to BSN Online Program are adult learners who desire to advance in their field by attending classes that emphasize convenience, practicality, and relavance. Online Learning staff will provide one-on-one communication for academic and financial advising on this online program. A "student commons" will also be available to facilitate community within the cohorts.

Bachelor of Science in Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse

Applicants who hold LVN licenses may qualify for advanced placement admission to nursing. LVNs may choose an LVN-BSN track or the LVN 30-unit option which meets the requirements for taking the RN licensing examination in California but does not lead to a BSN degree. LVN-BSN track is designed for working nurses in the region. The majority of the theory courses are online, requiring only minimal time on campus. Clinical requirements will be met by a combination of high technology simulation scenarios in our Chico Simulation Center, by specific clinical experiences in specialty clinical settings, and by preceptorships in the LVN’s local setting whenever possible.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurse (RN to BSN)

The RN-BSN program, which is primarily internet based, accentuates flexibility and convenience for the working nurse, including nurses in distant communities. Thus, the program can reach the most distant areas of our rural region, and meet the needs of nurses who have seven-day-a-week, around- the-clock, work schedules. The graduates of the School of Nursing at CSU, Chico are highly regarded by hiring agencies, and by their peers and clients. The BSN program is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing and the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Hannibal-LaGrange College offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree for Registered Nurses. The coursework offers the licensed RN with an associate degree or diploma an opportunity to expand his/her professional knowledge and obtain a BSN. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree for Registered Nurses is now available through Hannibal-LaGrange College’s Online Program. New students can begin this program at any time during the academic year, with courses running concurrently for 8-12 weeks. The program is designed specifically for working registered nurses. Flexibility in scheduling allows the student to complete the program as quickly or slowly as they desire.
