Bachelor Degree In Humanities
Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies The Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies degree program is focused on the world's most volatile and controversial region. The curriculum of the program addresses the political, religious, military, economic, and social/cultural issues of the Middle East. From a wide variety of courses ranging from holy wars to a city-study on Jerusalem, students have the opportunity to choose areas and topics of the Middle East of most interest to them. On completion of the program, graduates will have substantial knowledge in comparative politics, Middle East history, politics, and culture.
Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy is a liberal arts degree, which exposes students to Eastern, Western and contemporary philosophers and their studies. Throughout the program, students study myth, ritual and issues of ethics and morality; learn to think critically and objectively, to write clearly and effectively, and to develop creative solutions to unique situations. Students graduating from this program apply their skills and abilities in professions requiring a high level of analytical thought such as those in "think tanks" and legal professions. In addition to general Philosophy concentration, students may pursue a concentration in Ethics, which is becoming an increasingly important concern in different fields of endeavor.
Bachelor of Arts in Humanities This multidisciplinary program includes upper-division humanities courses selected by faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences. Analytical, research and communication skills which can enhance a person's career opportunities are emphasized in the major. Students explore diverse political, social and humanistic perspectives in the pursuit of their degree. Coursework has been arranged to encourage greater understanding of issues, ideas and themes in history and the contemporary world.
Bachelor of Arts in Ethics Earn the Bachelor of Arts in Ethics and Politics degree program at Empire State College. Our graduates are prepared for a broad range of careers including the legal profession (with a special interest in and knowledge of) public law or international issues, employment in government especially in diplomacy, strategic analysis, trade relations and international cultural contacts or a policy analysis role in large organizations.
Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy This undergraduate program develops the critical and rational faculties, instills a positive sense of impartiality and fairness in considering the views of others, and fosters a cautious, reflective attitude toward those things whose comprehension may exceed our current opinions and beliefs. The program provides students the opportunity to build a sturdy educational foundation in one of the core areas of the Humanities.
