Bachelor of Science in Education
Bachelor of Science in Education in Library Media Earn the Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Library Media. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to adapt and apply the principles of collection development, cataloging, reference, management, and assessment in library environments. We teach students how to describe formats of information sources with diverse points of view and discuss the legal and ethical responsibilities of providing access; apply traditional and innovative technologies to support library services. Our graduates can describe professional attitudes and philosophies of service needed to meet the information needs of diverse populations.
Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education The majority of courses in this distance program are offered to classrooms at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, ND. In addition to the general education requirements for the baccalaureate degree, majors in Elementary Education are required to complete the core of courses specified below. They also must complete the major and a minor or area of concentration consisting of 18 semester hours selected from courses offered by any one of the disciplines of the University. Elementary Education majors seeking kindergarten endorsement must complete at least five semester hours of student teaching at that level. Elementary Education majors seeking secondary certification in another major area must complete at least five semester hours of student teaching in that major at the secondary level.
Bachelor of Science in Education in Health Care Education The Master of Science in Education Health Care Educator degree program is designed for professionals in allied health fields who wish to educate the public, provide in-service training at their workplaces, or teach in the allied health departments in community colleges. This degree program provides one of the few hybrid health care-education master’s degree programs in the country, reflecting the college's history of preparation in both the health care and education fields. Bachelor of Science in Education in School Educator The Master of Science in Education School Educator degree program enables teachers and administrators to expand their career opportunities, and assists other professionals to meet certification standards or become educators. Moreover this degree program is designed for adults holding bachelor's degrees who wish to change careers into secondary-level teaching. This degree program is designed in part to meet Maine's “alternate route” requirements for professional certification, which are similar to those of a number of other states. The curriculum of this program provides all the tools necessary for a practicing educator to become even more successful or anyone who desires to become a school educator.
Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a four-year initial licensure Bachelor of Science in Education degree option in Elementary Education in partnership with NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville. The first two years of the program are offered at the community college and will culminate in an Associate’s Degree. Students who earn a minimum 2.7 GPA on freshman and sophomore prerequisite coursework and submit passing scores on all 3 parts of the Praxis I exam by April 15 of the entrance year will be invited to participate in an interview with faculty and will be required to complete a writing sample for analysis as part of that screening. A valid CPR card for both children and adults and admission to the University of Arkansas are also required. Selected candidates will be eligible to register for the UA junior courses.
