The field of behavioral sciences revolves around learning about various aspects of human behavior and the study of their responses as a result. In short, it is the study of human behavior with response to society, culture and other factors etc.  Individuals having their interests in human behavior and attitude can opt for the field of behavioral sciences.

 

Education Prerequisites

Undergraduate students looking to major in the field should enroll in a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science degree program. The prerequisite for Bachelors degree in Behavioral Sciences require College students to complete general education prerequisites this include English composition, mathematics, economics, communication and worldviews.

 

Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science

Bachelor's degree programs in behavioral science  is a 4 year Program  with a broad, interdisciplinary perspective  with the necessary scientific and educational background  Individuals who have a deep insight  of human behavior and interaction may opt to work in the fields of social work, psychology, sociology and counseling and provide a broad choice of career in future.

 

Students study normal and abnormal human development in the society under different levels as well as the development of relationships among different individuals. They also attain insight of various methods of dealing individual case studies.  Individuals enrolled as Graduate student may take introductory courses in psychology, anthropology and sociology.

 

Courses in Behavioral Sciences

Students possessing a major in behavioral science may be required to attend different seminar courses such as Human anatomy and physiology. Abnormal psychology

Theories of personality etc. They may be required to apply for internship opportunities in the human services field.

Careers in this field also involves training in a specific field which depends a lot on the chosen career any the individual. Completion of Training leads to a diploma or certification in Behavioral Sciences Students who major in behavioral science as undergraduates  and  mastering  in behavioral science field have brighter chances . Many positions in  both public nad private sectors require a  master degree to work as a social worker,  mental health counselor etc. Public and private sectors have variety of jobs. Possible jobs include:

 

Social service technician, residential counselor. Community outreach worker

Mental health technician, a police officer, counselor, teacher, or sales researcher. Individuals having a Graduate degree can work with individuals who need assistance and improvise them with their skills and knowledge. They may work  in job training programs and  welfare agencies. Since the field is wide so the options for career are enormous.
