Master of Science in Education in Cognitive and Behavioral Disabilities

The Fischler School of Education and Human Services recently announced the re-emergence of the specialization in Cognitive and Behavioral Disabilities to the NSU community. The specialization in cognitive and behavioral disabilities offers a unique opportunity for out-of-field teachers to continue working in their current positions while gaining specialized training in one of three special education categorical areas – categorical education in learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disabilities, and/or developmental disabilities. It is now available through our online, national format. This is an ideal program for out-of-field teachers who seek quality training in one or more specific disabilities, as well as for teachers who wish to earn a master’s degree in special education.

Master of Science in Education in School Counseling

The Master of Science in Education in Counseling School and Community is available to individuals who obtained a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. The program is designed to meet the needs of the working adult professional who will benefit from a graduate education in counseling.

Master of Science in Education in Counseling

The main goal of the M.S.E. degree in Counseling is to train school counseling professionals with expert skills in coordinating school counseling programs, supporting the teaching/learning process, counseling with students, and consulting with persons having significant influence on students' well-being and development. This program provides graduate-level study which is based on the comprehensive developmental model of school guidance and counseling. The program offers two options: School Counseling and Mental Health.

Masters Degree in Healthcare Innovation

The Master of Healthcare Innovation (MHI) is a 33-credit (one year) master’s degree program using a hybrid online format open to nursing and non-nursing students working and living at a distance. The hybrid online format allows students to take the coursework online as well as to participate in face-to-face contact with each other and with the instructors during 4-5 days of immersion sessions. This program is an initiative led by the ASU College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation in collaboration with the College of Design and the Hugh Downs School of Human Communications. MHI offers a futuristic, multidisciplinary, educational approach to the development of healthcare leaders who base decisions upon the best evidence available. Throughout the program, students will learn new processes to develop innovative, immediate solutions to existing or potential healthcare problems in both traditional and non-traditional healthcare organizations. Students from a variety of backgrounds are welcome to enroll for this program including nurse managers, nurses who are poised to move into management, physicians, engineers, dentists, and architects. Students are expected to come with a current or future healthcare problem or product they will work on during the directed study segment of MHI.
