Masters Degree in Civil Engineering

The Master of Civil Engineering correspondence program allows students to pursue their career at home or work site through its DVD and computer-based distance education delivery scheme. Such a program option combines elements of traditional instruction with modern day delivery methods to extend educational opportunity beyond the limits of campus, allowing students to improve their educational credentials without disrupting their career or relocating their family. Graduates of the program will become skilled civil engineers who design and construct infrastructure such as airports, buildings, bridges, dams, roads and sanitation systems. Moreover, on completion of the program students will be prepared to work rural and urban areas for large and small companies, as well as for local, state and federal governments.

 

Masters Degree in Civil Engineering

The courses for the Master of Civil Engineering degree are selected by the student and their advisor to develop a Plan of Graduate Work of 30 semester credit hours that is tailored to the students career needs within the framework of the program and Graduate School requirements. Getting a master's degree increases your expertise and helps set the stage for job promotions and career advancement. This degree is aimed at the engineer in consulting, industry, or government who needs additional courses in their field and related fields beyond the BS engineering degree to improve career-relevant knowledge and skills. While you will learn relevant theory, the focus of the course work is on the application of theory to real-world problems.

 

Masters Degree in Civil Engineering

This program is intended for working professionals, and can be completed in as few as 21 months. The program relieves you of the constraints of traditional classroom education by providing all class interaction via a virtual classroom. Throughout this program you will enhance your technical knowledge, while developing your project and business management expertise; you will acquire knowledge specific to your area of interest in structural or environmental/water resources engineering; you will participate in a learning model that combines relevant theory with real-world application for immediate results.
