MBA - Marketing

Marketers work to ensure that businesses are making the most of any product or service they're launching by monitoring and tweaking the price, place and production of the item. It can be a creative industry for those focusing on the advertising and media aspects or a more numbers based one for those doing statistical research and marketing studies. Good marketers will be able to get consumers to buy their products and an MBA in the field can help you get the expertise and background knowledge you need to start towards a successful and upwardly mobile career.

Students entering into an MBA program in marketing will find that most programs take about two years to complete. Of course, online programs may allow students to finish sooner and allow them to gain valuable work experience at the same time. No matter the duration, these programs will provide a great general background in business including courses like finance, accounting, and management. More marketing specific courses are also a big part of an MBA program, helping students to learn about customer behavior, public relations, developing advertising campaigns, and improving communications. Students should emerge with the confidence and skill to work directly as marketers or manage large or small marketing departments within a business–many graduates will also specialize in growing verticals, like real estate marketing, travel marketing, etc. Technology and knowledge of new media can be a valuable asset for many looking to work in the field, and many programs are making this an essential part of their programs.

An MBA in marketing can be much more than a good addition to your resume. It can also help you boost your annual income. Average income for this profession is on average between $46,000 and $58,000 and those with a few years of experience may be able to earn even more making it a good investment in your future. Armed with your new degree, you'll be prepared to work in a large range of industries and marketing positions. Some positions can include public relations managers, advertising creative and managers, media planners and brand management. Whether you want to work directly in marketing or manage those who do, this degree is a great way to boost your career and get you started down the path to success.
