MBA - Industrial Management

Keeping factories working smoothly and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, within cost considerations and abiding by all safety and legal regulations can be a daunting job, but one that can be rewarding and profitable as well. With an MBA in Industrial Management you'll be able to join this team of mid and upper legal managers who ensure that businesses keep their products rolling out smoothly and work to keep both customers and employees happy.

Those enrolled in an MBA program for Industrial management can expect to take some basic business courses that will give them a firm background in finance, economics, accounting, business policy, marketing and management strategy. Students will also work in courses that help them use this knowledge as it applies to the industrial setting, with classes that deal with issues like project and quality management, manufacturing effectiveness, manufacturing technology and supply chain management. This combination of courses is designed to produce students who are able to deal with the majority of challenges they will face in the working world and give them the skills to deal with conflict, manage resources and employees, and work towards a successful business. In general, MBA programs of this nature take about two years to complete from start to finish. Some students who enroll in special accelerated programs, however, may be able to complete their studies in less time.

Many people getting this kind of MBA are already working in a related field like engineering or manufacturing and simply want to get additional business experience to allow them to progress in their careers. These professionals will find that their MBA can be a great career asset in helping them move up in managerial careers. Work is available to graduates in a wide range of industries as every company that has a product needs a means to construct it. Since there are such a variety of industries in need of this kind of help, finding a job can in some ways be easier for graduates with an MBA in industrial management if they are not looking to work in one particular field. Salaries can be difficult to pin down as they will depend largely on experience and industry, but some higher level managers may be able to pull in 20-30% more than they would without an MBA degree.
