Bachelor of Professional Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies

The Bachelor of Professional Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies program is offered at Ellis College. This degree allows you to custom design a course of study that matches your professional and personal goals. Ellis College offers thirteen Interdisciplinary studies concentrations, they are the following: Behavioral Sciences, Business, Communication Arts, Computer Science, Early Childhood Education, English, Hospitality Management, Humanities, Labor Relations, Math/Physics, Social Sciences, Technical Writing, Technology, and Telecommunications Management.

 

Bachelor of Professional Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies

The Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies is a web-based undergraduate degree designed by the Regents Online Degree Program to meet the needs of Tennessee residents whose access to higher education may be limited by job obligations, geographic location, family obligations, and/or other restrictions which make on-campus attendance difficult and unlikely. Students interested in pursuing the Interdisciplinary Studies major must identify two academic areas or concentrations which will constitute the core of their major (e.g., music and literature, art and English, etc.). Each concentration must consist of a minimum of twelve semester-hours of upper-division courses. In addition, nine semester-hours of upper-division electives are also required.

 

Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies

Interdisciplinary Studies online degree is an approach to answering questions, solving problems, and addressing contemporary social issues from multiple perspectives. Interdisciplinary students develop the intellectual tools needed to build bridges between academic disciplines and apply their skills, innovations, and knowledge in various academic and practical settings. The BIS degree in Organizational Studies is designed for students seeking an interdisciplinary degree and a desire to learn about the dynamics of contemporary organizations. The Organizational Studies curriculum provides students with valuable knowledge of management styles, communication strategies, technologies, diversity, ethics and politics. All course work for Organizational Studies is offered online giving students freedom and flexibility in completing their requirements. The Bachelor of Liberal Studies (B.L.S.) is an online degree-completion program for students who already have 60 or more semester hours toward an undergraduate degree. Students can complete their degree from anywhere in the world, as long as a computer with Internet access is nearby. The B.L.S. is a transdisciplinary program, offering students the opportunity to take classes across various disciplines and view the world from multiple perspectives. Elective courses in the program include Scientific Inquiry, Communication, Global and Cultural Perspectives, Personal and Social Environments, Computer Literacy Elective, Composition I and II, Introduction to Algebra, Intermediate Algebra and others.

 

Bachelors Degree in General Studies

This degree is designed by the student and advisor and integrates coursework from across the curriculum. It is for students who desire a liberal arts and sciences bachelor's degree from Columbia College but for whom there is not an appropriate major.
