Floriculture Operations and Management

Floriculture operations are a $10 billion segment of the U.S. economy. This industry develops, grows and utilizes cut flowers, potted flowers, and bedding and foliage plants for the consumer. Colleges and universities offer programs that prepare students to mange and operate commercial florist enterprises, greenhouses, flower farms, and supply and delivery services. In this career, one must learn floral design, floral arranging, plant science, purchasing, delivery and storage, and business management of floral operations.
