Dairy Sciences
A dairy sciences degree program examines many aspects of dairy farm management, including duties like overseeing production, monitoring the well being of dairy cattle, managing finances and land resource management. Students study biology and animal science subjects such as nutrition, breeding and ecosystems in order to understand the proper care of livestock.
Curriculum consists of both classroom learning and hands-on experience. Most schools with a dairy science program have an existing facility that houses livestock and all of the necessities for a full-scale dairy farming operation. Students also have the opportunity to take part in internships with local dairy farms.
Degree programs are available at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. Graduates of a dairy science program can go on to find work in farming or marketing dairy products. Degree-holders can also work for companies that supply dairy farmers with equipment, food or animals.
Associate's degree and certificate programs in Radiologic Sciences train students to use diagnostic imaging equipment, such as X-rays and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines. Graduates of these programs work in hospitals, clinics and private medical offices. Read on to find out more about what you can do with an associate's degree or certificate in Radiologic Sciences.
People seeking a career in the Laboratory Sciences can work as Clinical Laboratory Technologists or Clinical Laboratory Technicians. Professionals in the Laboratory Sciences work to diagnose and detect disease through a variety of procedures.
